Google Maps reveal our extent of reliance on technology
This big issue has always been debated that internet is affecting the general thinking and the comprehension of simple knowledge. If we want to recollect anything we don’t stress our mind too much but just Google it and outcome is lightening fast always. To further aggravate the scenario, Google is trying forgetting lessons learnt of geography because of its new innovation on Google Maps.
These days plethora of smartphone apps are there to help you out if you are trying to figure out the address of your desired destination. But surely there have been some instances in the past which led travellers straying off their track and ended up miles away from their destination. In fact, too much reliance on the technology is causing people to lose their common sense and retention power.
In addition, Google has released a new app for indoor mapping which will help in gathering info on maps accuracy. The most astonishing feature of this app is that it can tell you which floor you are on with precision. We have become so relied on technology that we are now looking for some apps that can tell us the directions for our offices.
This has certainly affected our ability to read the floor number. Though, the app sound a bit shallow at this time but can become all pervasive in future. Some people are saying that it can seriously affect our social interaction by completely eliminating our social meetings. The money spent making this app can be given to some geography and map reading classes. But one thing is certain that we are depending too much on technology and what will happen if this mapping system fails thus leaving us no where!
